St. James School is proud to provide before and after school child care for the convenience of our school families.  It is our desire to develop a flexible, developmentally appropriate “play” and “success” oriented environment that integrates the Catholic faith and complements the home and school by encouraging physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth and positive feeling of self-worth.

St. James Child Care offers before and after school care for students in grades K-4.  Acceptance for 5th grade and higher will depend on availability.  Our staff consists of well-qualified specialists who are committed to providing a warm, supportive environment to enhance a child’s self-image.  Children will be given continuity of care and supervision with the student to teacher ratio not exceeding 20:1.

Hours of Operation
Child care is available Monday-Friday on days that school is in session.

Before School: 7:00 a.m.—7:50 a.m.
After School: 3:05 p.m.—6:00 p.m.

If school is cancelled due to inclement weather, child care is closed. Child care is open at 8:00 a.m. during inclement weather delay days.

Typical Afternoon Program
• Check-in
• Organized play (gym or outside)
• Snack time
• Homework time with staff support
• Planned daily activity
• Extra homework or reading time

From time to time, special events are planned for child care participants including movie day, holiday parties, or walking to the bowling alley.

2024-2025 Fees  

The registration fee for each family is $30.00.
